Greetings!
What a privilege it is for Lana and me to be here to serve you at Fair Haven.
Our arrival here ends a seven-month search for a new youth pastorate position
and we couldn't be any happier then we are right now. There were days when we
had some real questions as to where God was leading us, but as always God was
faithful and was directing our steps even though we didn't know where. And with
every passing day we are here, we have more and more confidence that the Lord
has brought us to Fair Haven. We appreciate every one of you who have taken the
time to introduce yourself to us and offer a lending hand. You truly do fit the
description Pastor Gus gave us of the people of Fair Haven. We
also count it a privilege to be able to work side by side with Pastor Gus &
Glenda, Pastor Chuck & Cheryl, the church board, and all the rest of the team
here at Fair Haven. Once we heard what God was doing here and where the church
was headed we knew that Fair Haven was the place for us. It sounds as if there
are some incredible days ahead for this church and we want to play a part in it. As
most of you probably already know our passion in ministry is for students. So
much, that we have dedicated the last 7 ½ years of our lives to working
with students. We believe that students have the ability to change their world
like never before. We believe they are the most incredibly unique group in the
whole church and that they have the ability to do things for God that you or I
never did when we were their age. Our vision for working with students is simple
- "Change the lives of students so that they can, in turn, change their world."
That is our goal. As part of working in youth
ministry, God has really begun to stir our hearts towards families as well. We
have seen the breakdown in the home and it's very disturbing. One of our goals
is to strengthen the relationships between students and parents the best we can.
I say that to encourage any parents, that our door is always open to you. We are
not just pastors to students but parents/families as well. In closing let me
ask for your prayers and support. We are always in need of those who can support
us in any way possible. Whether it is in opening up your home, sharing a skill
or trade you have, helping out with an event, or just joining our prayer team
- we cherish your support. Also, I ask for your prayers. My challenge has always
been to just give Lana and me sixty seconds of your day to pray for us. Would
you pray for us as we pray for you? Serving
students, Pastor Al Paulauski
